Before you start your application, please be aware that:

  • If your capital is £16,000 or over you will not usually be eligible for Council Tax Support or Housing Benefit. Please contact the Benefits department on 01263 516349 or email benefits@north-norfolk.gov.uk to discuss if any of your capital would be disregarded

  • If you are on State Pension and would like to apply for Housing Benefit, you will need to supply the last 3 months bank statements and proof of all capital, as well as a copy of your tenancy agreement and an up-to-date letter from your landlord with the value of your rent included.

  • You should not tick that you are in receipt of Universal Credit or Pension Credit if you have not yet had your first payment.

If you do not supply the relevant evidence with your claim form and you are entitled to Council Tax Support and or Housing Benefit, this will delay your claim being put into payment.
